This mermaid pattern was inspired by mermaids in an art nouveau style. I love how the artist Alphonse Mucha frames the women he paints, and the mermaid needed to have some white space around her as she’s so delicate.
I painted florals, shells and seahorses for the frame, with leaf-like shapes to make beautiful floral diamond garland.

Tidepool print includes hand painted elements & digital illustrations. A story from my childhood about an underwater garden has always come to mind when looking at rock pools. I love the treasures you can spot. Anemones, shells, starfish, flower-like seaweed, sea glass, patterned fish, crabs, etc.
Inspired by the beauty of this, I created a pattern with a mix of hand painted and digital shapes to try to capture the whimsical nature of tidepools (we call them rockpools in Australia). I used pinks, purples and lots of greeny blues for the colour palette, on a background of light grey.

Stella Seahorse print’s dark, moody teals & blues represent the depths of the sea. The cute pink seahorses and flower-crosses contrast make it lighthearted and beachy. I generally use bright colours for my patterns, but wanted to offer some dark tones for my leggings.
This pattern is made with digitally created illustrations and hand-painted elements.
